Evolution of Laptops from 1981 to 2011

It is very exciting for new generations to know more about laptop like when it was invented, who has discovered and many more. But, before you get some information about laptop, let I discuss something with you.

Since 100 years ago, people are unknown about laptop and they used only computer for their work. But, when people travel by train or by flight due to some reason, they are unable to do work with their computer and it also consumes more electricity which is headache for a normal person.So, keeping this on eye researcher discover laptop to avoid such problem.

Laptop these days is very demanding and it is like able to everyone due to its features. Do you know, when Laptop was invented and by whom ?
The laptop computer was invented in 1981 by the one and only Adam Osborne. The first laptop was called as "Osborne1".

First Laptop looks is very different, compare to recent book sized folding laptops. The Osborne1 came with 5" inch screen, two 5 1/4 floppy drives, including modem port, battery pack and a huge collection of bundled software programs. The following pictures give you an idea about early laptops



In 1987, IBM-compatible laptops were the IBM PC Convertible and two new Toshiba models were T1000 and T1200 was introduced. The Toshiba models were small and light enough to be carried in a bag pack, and it could be run off lead-acid batteries. In ROM, O/S used to store in and it had limited floppy based DOS machines.
 
By the end of 1980's, Laptop computers becomes more trendy among business people. In mid 1989 the NEC_ UltraLite released for the first time notebook computers which weight is just over 2 kg. It contained RAM drive with a two megabyte which reduced its utility as well as its size.Compaq LTE series were the first notebook computers to include hard drives. In 1989, the first Apple Computer machine was designed Macintosh Portable. During 1991, the Apple PowerBook series were introduced. This established changes the placement of the keyboard, room for palm rest and the addition of a trackball. IBM released Thinkpad 700C the following next year . It is almost comparable design of Thinkpad.

In 1995, the summer was a momentous turning point in the history of notebook computing. About the end of the year Microsoft introduced Windows_95. Microsoft has placed much of the power management control in the operating system for the first time. 
This move by Microsoft was controversial in the eyes of notebook designers because it greately reduced their ability to innovate;however, it helped in simplifying and stabilizing certain aspects of notebook designs. As technology improved during the end of the year 2000, the usefulness and popularity of laptops increased and the price went down.
