Minimum Requirements for .NET Framework 4.0 Server Installation :
  • At first you must have Internet Information Services (IIS) version 6.0 or later.
  • To access the features of ASP.NET, you should have installed IIS with the latest security updates.
  • In advance to install the .NET Framework on your PC.
  • Memorize that ASP.NET supports only Windows XP Professional, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2 RC.
  • It is also suggested to have Microsoft Data Access Components 2.8 or later.
  • Most users do not have to perform a server installation and if you are unsure whether to perform a server installation, just perform a basic installation.
Follow the simple steps to download and install .NET Framework 4.0 Beta 1 :
  • Be sure that a PC contains with heaps of latest Windows service pack and critical updates.
  • If your PC doesnot have security updates then visit Windows Update.
  • Before installing .NET, you must have Windows Installer 3.1.
  • If your PC doesn't have Windows Installer 3.1 then download it.
  • After that, download .NET Framework 4.0 for x86 (dotNetFx40_Full_x86.exe), x64 dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe) and ia64 (dotNetFx40_Full_x86_ia64.exe).
  • You may be confused which one to select to download. Use x64.
  • It should install correctly on either x86 or x64.
  • Then click on Run or download it and then install.
